Relationship Reflection

Relationship is a partnership where two people work on building a healthy environment. I always have a great relationship with my mother and she is my everything.  She taught me the basic skills in life to be an effective learner through my adulthood.  I still have friends from elementary school that I can consider family because of the type of relationship that we built since our early learning years. When you have that great relationship with someone that you care about it can be beneficial to both you and that person. As a professional in the early childhood field I need to have that positive communication with parents so that I can know when my students have critical needs. Therefore, having a positive relationship with my staffs, parents, students, family members, and the community is very important to me because we all can benefit from each other.

My husband is like my best friend. We have a great relationship where we communicative with each other effectively as well as support each other. My husband always encourages to do be better in anything that matters to me. For instant my goal is to open a learning center for special need children as well as regular education children after I finish my program at Walden, he encourage to start working on my project now so that I can finish both my schooling and open my business at the same time. My mother is my biggest supported she show me love in so many level and I am glad that I have her in my life. Emily is my one of my good friend that I value. We have a great relationship where we support each other on a day-to-day basis. We communicate with each other on areas that can affect our life as an individual. Having a great friend and family support can make a difference in someone’s life.
The challenge of developing meaningful relationship is to not judge each other, and always be yourself. For example when I met Emily we had a natural understanding about each other. We accepted each other and respected each other’s knowledge and ability as an individual. It is very important to communicate with each other with respect because everyone has something special to offer.  My experience with relationship and partnership plays a big role in my teaching career. As a teacher I have to maintain a relationship with parents and students in my class as well as partner with the community to have resources for those parents that have critical needs children in order to better serve them.

  1. Very nice family photo! I really do agree with you that it is very important to have relationships with your parents. Relationships create relaxed environment and communication between the two and parents feel more free to discuss real matters and issues with you, creating positive opportunities to assist with any issue. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Hi Sophia
I enjoyed your post. I think that your aspiration to create a learning centre is critical, a so many children and families need more support. I work at a school with teachers, nurses, OT, PT, SLP, Social Workers. Yearly demands for services increase. Maybe I can help in the future.
    Great post and lovely photo.

  5. Hi Sophia,

Love your post. Great pic of your family. I agree that the challenge of maintaining positive relationships is to not judge each other. I find it also important not to try to compete with each other and be supportive and happy for others accomplishments, instead of being jealous. Thanks for your post.
