I did not know it was going to be so hard to
establish some type of professional contact with overseas individuals in the
early childhood education field. My goal was to get in contact with someone in
Haiti because I want to share my knowledge and experience to see if I can help
make a difference on how children are learning as an individual. Unfortunately I
was unable to connect with anyone therefore I have chosen the alternative to
complete part 1 assignment. As far as
choosing a website for the part 2 of the assignment, it was challenging because
there are so many websites to choose from and I feel like I can learn from
every single professional websites. I am looking forward to enhancing my knowledge
on issues and trends in the early childhood education field as well as learn
how to apply what I learn to my career. With that said I ended up choosing Zero
to Three: National Center for Infants, Toddlers, and Families can be found on http://www.zerotothree.org and The
National Association for the Education of Young Children can be found at http://www.naeyc.org. I am also looking to
learn everything I can about issues and trends. To help your child create a solid foundation for growth to a brighter future academically. I believe that each child should be provided with experiences of self-worth, which are essential in the adjustment, exploration and academic growth in child’s development. My approach is to caring for children includes encouraging them to problem solve, making pictures in their own unique ways and creativity play.

Hello Sophia
ReplyDeleteWe were enrolled in the previous courses together.
I am very interested to learn more about the programs in Haiti. My friend and her husband had adopted a child from an orphanage in Haiti. They were due to pick up “Trey” when the earthquake struck. It was a horrific time for the people of that country and we know that they are still rebuilding.
Trey was safe and is now in Canada. He is just about three and does have some developmental delays but is receiving great supports within an early education environment
Hi Sophia,
ReplyDeleteI also had a difficult time in contacting international professionals. At this stage I will probably use the alternative as well but I am still hoping to hear back from some of the people that I messaged. I look forward to learning what you discover through the websites that you've chosen.
